A city is both a space and a community that bears the traces of human life. When people gather and lives continue, a city is formed; when people disperse and life is cut off, a city fades. In this way, cities and people constantly interact, continually influencing one another. The exhibition <Urban Stories : Lives in> seeks to explore and present the stories about the relationship and dynamics between cities and the people within them.
Most people in modern days are in the city, and there are people where the place named as city. This exhibition captures not only the physical space of the city but also the lives of its residents, as well as the deep concepts and reflections that lie beneath. The presented works reveal the city not only as a physical space but as a vast stage imprinted with countless traces of human presence. Photography serves as a medium to express the artist’s perspective on the events unfolding within this stage. The exhibition features photographic works faithful to the roles of recording and reproduction, alongside digitally manipulated and reassembled images and video works carefully planned and staged from inception.
By encountering the diverse scenes perceived by the artists, viewers are offered an opportunity to read the culture that emerges from the interaction between city and people. This exhibition allows them to feel the passage of historical time as cities and people grow, decline, and continuously shape one another.
